Nashville Getaway!

Over Labor Day weekend Chelsea, Kevin, Allison and I went on a road trip to Nashville! The purpose was to help Allison decide whether or not her dream of moving to Nashville should become a reality.

We had a lot of fun going to honky tonks and listening to all the live music. Chelsea and I bought authentic cowboy boots! YEEHAW!

And we ate tons of BBQ and good southern cookin'!

Oh, and no road trip is complete without Easy Cheese!

#21 Plant a successful garden - DONE (kind of)

One of the goals I set this year was to plant a successful garden. The only thing that really grew were the cucumbers. So it wasn't a complete success but the cucumbers were delicious!
Although the other things didn't grow I have had a lot of fun working in our yard and seeing the hard work pay off. It makes me excited to have a yard of my own some day!

#20 Go to Greece with Emily - DONE = Vacation of a lifetime!

Well, it has been more than a couple of weeks since we got back from the cruise so it is about time to let you know how AMAZING our trip was! We left DC on Friday and Saturday morning boarded the "Splendour of the Seas" in Venice.

Day #2: Dubrovnik, Croatia
Our first stop was the beautiful walled city of Dubrovnik. We walked along the top of the walls and looked down on all the people milling about in the streets.
We swam in the Adriatic Sea at a great spot with all the locals.

Day #3: At Sea
One of our favorite nights on the cruise was the formal night. Emily and I decided to put on our "best dresses" for dinner.
It was really fun to get dressed up and take pictures. We had quite the photo shoot!

Day #4: Kusadesi, Turkey
In Turkey we went to Ephesus and walked around all the old ruins where Paul walked and preached.
We walked around the street markets and saw so many colorful things. Including these beautiful bowls (which we each purchased!)
But our favorite thing we did in Turkey was go to a turkish bath.
Day #5: Santorini, Greece
Sontorini was just how I imagined it. The white walls and blue domes were really gorgeous. We rode donkeys up the 600+ steps to the city of Fira. First order of business was to go up to Oia and walk around the shops and look out over the breathtaking cliffs.
We also spotted the house where they filmed "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"!
Halfway through the day we rented ATV's and drove down to the "Red Beach" in Akrotiri. It was so much fun until our ATV broke down on the way back 45 minutes before we had to be donw at the dock to get on the ship. Needless to say, we had quite the adventure trying to get back to cruise ship, but this is a story for another post!

Day #6: Corfu, Greece
The great thing about this trip was that each place we visited was so different. When we got to Corfu we rented a car, who we affectionately called Clementine, and drove all over the island!
We went on a boat tour of the caves along the coast and saw some of the most clear, baeutiful water I have ever seen.

We also ate some great food in Corfu (greek yogurt with honey, baklava and gyros!)

On our last night on the ship we got a picture with our dinner table. We really had so much fun with our british friends and waiter Felippe!
Day #8: Venice, Italy
I LOVED Venice! It was one of my favorite places we went. We had great food, saw great sights, walked around and went on a gondola ride with our the attractive gondolier, Julian!

All in all we had a wonderful time and I would go back in a second! Thanks Chelsea, Darel and Emily for an excellent vacation!
